GM Rod Graves and Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt were fired by the Arizona Cardinals today, one day after the team’s 27-13 loss to the 49ers that capped off a disappointing 5-11 season.
The Cardinals began the year 4-0, but then went into a tailspin, dropping their next ten games as their lack of quarterback play undermined the team’s stout defense. The team ended the year with Brian Hoyer starting as the team’s fourth different starter for the year.
In his six seasons at the helm, Whisenhunt posted a 45-51 record plus 4-2 in the post-season. The Cardinals reached the Super Bowl in the 2008 season, losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
