So you’ve heard from all eight of our resident experts on their predictions for the 2012 NFL season. But what happens when we take all of those picks, put them in a blender and then pour them all out? Why you get our official predictions for the 2012 season, of course!

Jumping to the bottom line, our prognosticators are forecasting a San Francisco 49ers victory over the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, with the Broncos and Packers serving as conference also-rans. In the AFC our division winners are the Patriots, Ravens, Texans, and Broncos, with the Steelers and Bills grabbing the wildcard spots. In the NFC, the Giants, Packers, Saints, and 49ers win their divisions, with the Bears and Eagles earning wildcard berths.

Of course, all of this is posted before a single down of football has been played, and NFL seasons are never quite what we expect. But it will be fun nonetheless at the end of the season to look back and see how we fared, particularly in relation to the alleged experts in mass media. Hopefully we can be at least as accurate as some of the people who pull paychecks from ESPN.

  1. If Buffalo beats Baltimore then New England should be beating Buffalo not Baltimore.

  2. Good catch..it’s Baltimore over Buffalo.

  3. I think everyone is placing too much importance of the P. Manning factor in Denver. His leadership will certainly up Denver’s regular season win total, however, Denver’s lack of WR depth will be an issue all year and be more evident in the playoffs.

  4. Not to mention the fact that Peyton doesn’t play defense, and that team’s defense will be exposed in the playoffs. I completely agree.
